Only DOCX and HTML to PDF conversion runs today, as a private alpha. Nothing here is generally available yet.

Workflows

Not a PDF converter. A document pipeline.

Real document flows are more than one conversion. Files have to be scanned, normalized, archived, signed, read and delivered, with a record of each step.

Each step runs as part of an asynchronous job. Your application submits once, gets a job back immediately and receives a single webhook when the pipeline finishes.

Steps you do not need are skipped. The order is always the same, so results are predictable and every step leaves an entry in the audit trail.

Multi-step workflows are on the roadmap. The private alpha covers single conversions.

Developers

Async by default. Safe to retry.

Document processing is slow and unpredictable. The API accepts work fast, runs it in a queue and tells you when it is done.

POST /v1/documents/convert
Returns 202 with a job right away. The heavy work happens in a queue.
GET /v1/jobs/{job_id}
Poll the job state: queued, processing, completed, failed or rejected.
EVENT document.completed
Delivers a signed webhook so you do not have to poll at all.

Send an Idempotency-Key with every write. If a network error makes you retry, you get the original job back instead of a duplicate conversion.

Designed with enterprise security requirements in mind.

Documents carry contracts, medical records and financial data. The platform is being built around that from the first line of code.

TLS on every public endpoint. No plain HTTP for API traffic.

Conversion engines run in separate containers, apart from the API.

Uploaded files are scanned before any engine opens them.

The private alpha already scans every file for malware, converts in isolated containers without internet access, stores API keys hashed, deletes documents automatically after 24 hours (or sooner on demand through the API), delivers signed webhooks for job events, enforces per-key rate limits and keeps an audit trail. The rest is design work for a product that is not generally available. We do not hold SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA or any other certification, and we will not claim one until an independent audit says so.

An operation is one processing step on one document, for example one conversion or one signature. How multi-step workflows are counted will be defined during the beta. Prices are in US dollars. Payments are not enabled yet.

Where things stand today, and what is still being decided.

What formats are supported?

The private alpha converts DOCX and HTML to PDF. XLSX, PPTX, public URLs and common image formats (PNG, JPEG, TIFF) are planned, with PDF/A as an additional output. The final list will depend on what beta users actually need, so tell us about your formats when you sign up.

Do you store documents?

Only for as long as a job needs them. In the private alpha, originals and results are kept in private object storage for 24 hours and then deleted automatically. Files flagged by the malware scan are deleted immediately. You can also delete a document and its derivatives on demand with DELETE /v1/documents/{id}.

Will private deployments be available?

Yes, that is part of the plan. The platform is being built so that the API and its processing workers can run inside a customer VPC, on Kubernetes or on OpenShift. It is on the roadmap, not available during the first beta.

Will you support digital signatures?

Yes. Signing PDFs (PAdES) and validating existing signatures are planned right after the core conversion features. Customers will be able to use their own certificates.

Is there a REST API?

The REST API is the product. It is versioned, described with OpenAPI generated from the code, authenticated with API keys, and built around asynchronous jobs, idempotent requests and structured errors. Today it serves invited teams in a private alpha. SDKs for Java, JavaScript / TypeScript and Python will follow.

When will the beta open?

We do not have a public date yet. We will invite people from the waitlist in small groups, starting with teams whose use cases match the first features. Joining the list is the way to get in early.

How does document security work?

Every file is scanned for malware before a conversion engine opens it, engines run in isolated containers with no internet access, API keys are stored hashed, requests are rate limited per key and every step is recorded in an audit trail. Files travel over TLS in production and are deleted according to the retention policy. We do not hold certifications such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 today and will say so plainly until that changes.
